October 2010 - NAC Harmonic Drive Supports MIT
Media Lab Benefits via Donations of Precision Harmonic Drive Gearing
Cambridge, MA USA – Students at Massachusetts Institutes of Technology’s prestigious Media Lab recently benefited by donations of precision of harmonic drive gearing sets from NAC Harmonic Drive, Inc. The Media Lab “focuses on a broad range of human-machine research, focused on machines with common sense, viral communications, “smart” prostheses, advanced sensor networks, and innovative interface design.” The Media Lab first contacted NAC with the intent to purchase drives as part of a motion control project. Upon learning of tight project budget constraints the students were faced with, NAC opted to donate sets to support the research efforts. Vincent Genovese, NAC Harmonic Drive’s Vice President of Business Development, explains, “The advancement of knowledge is a core belief of our management team. The donation of drives to MIT is a small tangible step we can take to support a belief we value.” Universities, labs, and students interested in a cooperative relationship with NAC Harmonic Drive, Inc. should contact the company at (904) 493-6496 or email info@nacharmonicdrive.com.
